HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN CROSSFITTING?

I started Crossfit about 6 years ago when we lived in South Texas. The box I workout in was nothing like Strong Body but I was attracted to the types of movements and workouts I participated in each day. When we moved to Cypress I wondered if I would find a Crossfit gym that was close to home. When Strong Body opened, I was one of the original members. Back then it was a big empty garage, with no electricity, a few barbells, weights and wall balls. Strong Body has come a long way and I am glad to be a part of it.

WHAT DO YOU ENJOY ABOUT STRONG BODY CROSSFIT?
I enjoy Strong Body because of the fantastic workouts we have each day that challenge me to try new things, get stronger and try harder. The people I have met along the way have also made it even more fun!

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE CROSSFIT MOVEMENT?
My Favorite movement is “The Thruster”. I like it because is allows me to utilize multiple muscle groups and works out most of the body, but the real reason is because it is the one movement that I can do better than my husband, Lyle 😉

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE SOMEONE LOOKING TO START CROSSFIT?
For a new member just getting started with crossfit I would advise them to pace themselves, every day you will get better and stronger. Most of the members here started without participating in any kind of fitness program before and none of us are judging your performance, we are all here to cheer each other on and motivate you to finish. Newbies should know, Crossfit is hard but fun because you do something different everyday, somedays you will be good at it, other days it will kick your butt. Even when you’re super sore and your legs and arms feel like jello keep in mind that you made yourself a little bit better that day.
